2019 witnessed the release of several state of IT security case studies for 2018 and in terms of IT security and downtime, these reports weren’t flattering. According to a CTI report, 94% of small businesses do not recover from major data losses. Also, IT-related downtime has been responsible for $50,000 to $5 million loses to affected businesses. 

As recently as just a few years ago, business leaders worried about the unknown factors of moving their core applications to the cloud. Factors like not knowing how a particular application might work in the cloud were deterrents to what would have been optimal cloud migration, according to Tech Target. With new attention to performance metrics and understanding how their applications will scale with cloud services, organizations are finding cloud computing companies more attractive all the time.

By now everyone has heard of the cloud and how it is revolutionizing the computer industry. Most companies are either in the process of migrating to the cloud or planning a cloud migration. The public cloud allows companies, big and small, to host their applications in virtual servers at a lower cost than a traditional data center. According to the 2017 RightScale State of the Cloud Report the top reason companies are interested in the cloud is cost savings.
