The Challenge 

Skybound was seeking to stabilize their website, which needed to handle growing traffic volume and to bring some of their applications to the cloud. Additionally, they wanted a solution that would enhance their analytics usage and needed assistance migrating their analytics data to a managed data warehouse solution. 
 

Solution

Stratus10 assisted in designing, automating, and implementing a process that allowed them to export their My-SQL data to CSV files, upload them to an intermediate S3 Buckets, and perform an Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) process using AWS Glue - a service that prepares data for analysis through automated extract, transform and load (ETL) processes. This allowed us to prepare the data in order to match the client's database schemas and finally load the data into an AWS Redshift cluster. In addition, AWS Config was implemented to improve security for the solution.

Skybound achieved their goals of migrating to the cloud for improved site stability and integration with their analytics application. The solution enabled them to focus on their core business instead of spending resources to manually manage their environments.
