The Challenge
GB International was facing challenges with their Windows workloads for users located in other countries. With a traditional IT infrastructure located across multiple data centers GB International was searching for a more streamlined way to manage their servers, increase security, and maintain uninterrupted connectivity for their users abroad. GB International sought the help of Stratus10 for their server migration to AWS.
The Solution
Stratus10 assisted GB International in designing and implementing a highly-available, secure, and scalable solution for their application and web servers across multiple AWS regions. The solution provided them with a highly available infrastructure to host their applications while allowing uninterrupted connectivity for their users abroad. As an added bonus GB International saved an additional 62% of the cost compared to their data center spending. CloudFormation templates were used to deploy the infrastructure. Lambda functions were used to monitor and reassign EIP for certain instances when they are replaced by an autoscaling group. AWS Systems Manager was used to manage OS patching for all instances.
